Far Infrared Detox Sauna

There is no one on this planet with a body free from accumulated toxins.

The fact is our exposure to chemicals and heavy metals often exceeds our body's abilities to excrete them. The sources are everywhere: mercury from fish, mercury from dental fillings, plastics from food packaging, pesticides from our immediate environment, fire retardants virtually throughout the house, even carpeting outgases chemicals known to cause cancer. That beloved new car smell, while indicative of a car with many years left to it's life, may actually be shortening yours. All of these sources, independently, are miniscule and innocuous, but they accumulate in the body ultimately to cause problems for many of us. Are You toxic?

A Transcend™ High Tech Health Sauna Isn't Just About Relaxation

DETOXIFICATION

Medical doctors and health practitioners worldwide recognize the High Tech Health sauna as perhaps the most effective method of removing both chemical and heavy metal toxins from the body. Our sauna was Designed for Detox™.

The High Tech Health Transcend Far Infrared Sauna removes heavy metal toxins (including mercury), and fat-stored (lipophilic) toxins, plus metals trapped in connective tissue and the brain. It also increases the eliminative, detoxifying, and cleansing capacity of the skin by stimulating the sweat glands. When the liver, kidneys, and lungs have been damaged by chronic exposure to environmental toxins, the body's ability to eliminate toxins becomes impaired. The Transcend sauna assists the body in eliminating the toxins and promotes the restoration of those organs back to proper function so that they can address future toxins.

ENHANCED IMMUNE SYSTEM HEALTH

Each far infrared sauna session causes a brief, beneficial increase in body temperature, which improves immune system health by boosting production of infection-fighting white blood cells (leukocytes) by your bone marrow and killer T-cells by your thymus.

IMPROVED CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

Medical research shows that regular use of a far infrared sauna may be as effective for cardiovascular conditioning as exercise. As the body heats up, it cools itself by sending blood from the internal organs to the extremities and the skin, thus increasing heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate. In the 1980s, NASA concluded that far infrared stimulation is the ideal way for astronauts to maintain cardiovascular conditioning during long space flights.

Read Dr. Jonathan Wright's Nutrition & Healing newsletter discussing far infrared sauna usage and its ability to improve heart health and even male erectile function. If interested, also read about the study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology that found that repeated use of a far infrared sauna improved vascular endothelial and cardiac function in patients with chronic heart failure.

STRESS RELIEF

High daily stress levels put constant strain on the body's nervous system and can contribute to chronic disease. The far infrared sauna helps to reduce physical stress by boosting circulation and triggering the production of endorphins, the "feel good" hormones. Besides these physiological effects, a sauna session also contributes to stress reduction simply by providing a peaceful and relaxing environment away from it all.

WEIGHT LOSS & CELLULITE CONTROL

Toxins can play a significant role in preventing us from losing weight as well as gaining weight. The body will even create fat to store chemical toxins when they excede the body's ability to excrete them. Those who have been unsuccessful at dieting often times have a toxicity problem and will find success after using a Transcend sauna to eliminate the chemicals stored in the fat cells that can impede weight loss. Those wishing to lose weight should also note that the cardiovascular effect from a single sauna session burns as many as 600 calories.

Cellulite is a gel-like substance made up of fat, water, and waste products trapped near the surface of the skin. The sauna is also quite effective at dealing with cellulite when combined with massage therapy and nutrition.

PAIN RELIEF

By dilating blood vessels, infrared heat increases blood circulation to injured areas, speeding up the healing process and relieving pain. Infrared heat has also been used extensively in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatism, and muscle spasms.

BEAUTIFIES THE SKIN

Profuse perspiration deeply cleanses the skin, creating beautiful and improved tone, texture, and color.

How to Sauna

1. Come well-hydrated to your session…the more hydrated you are beforehand the better detox and fat loss you’ll experience. Continue to drink at least 8 oz of water per hour after your session to rehydrate and to continue the benefits! We highly recommend replenishing electrolytes and B vitamins! Bring a glass with you into the room (not in the sauna!) so you’ve got it on hand if you need it during your session.

2. You should wear something comfortable and loose fitting such as a bathing suit or breathable, cotton clothing. You should bring 2-3 towels, one for the bench and for beneath your feet, the other to dab your glowing face and to use at your back if you choose to lean against the walls.

3. Do not apply any oils/lotions, anti-perspirants, cosmetics or perfume before entering the sauna as it will impair your ability to sweat.

4. Refrain from eating heavy foods or full meals 1 hour prior to your session for comfort’s sake and maximum efficacy.

5. We recommend showering after your session, after your body has had time to cool down, to wash away the toxins you’ve just sweated out!  Toxins can be reabsorbed if not washed away.

6. ENJOY! If necessary, you may open the door to the sauna at any time during your session if you feel too hot. This should be a relaxing, enjoyable experience! You will still receive the benefits of infrared while fresh air circulates in the sauna.

FAQs

IS IT TRUE I AM STILL BURNING CALORIES UP TO AN HOUR AFTER MY SESSION?

Yes. By increasing your basal metabolic rate, your sauna session has lasting energy expenditure even after your session is over.

I DON’T USUALLY SWEAT MUCH, IS THE SAUNA STILL OK FOR ME?

For many people with varying levels of toxicity (chemical, heavy metal, pesticide) it may take between 5 and 10 sessions to begin to see volume of sweat increased. Hydration is key to enhancing the detoxification and sweating and will greatly improve the sweat volume in those who have trouble at first. Individuals working up to a deep, profuse sweat will still be receiving the benefits of therapeutic infrared rays and detoxification through urine, bowels and hair.

HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

Infrared saunas are reserved for 60 minutes, 20 minutes to change clothes before and after, up to a 30 minute sauna session depending on conditioning and comfort level, and a cool down period, if needed.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN?

We recommend 3 sessions/week for a more aggressive weight loss and concentrated approach to detoxification. The more the better! Try to sauna immediately following your workout/fitness program to see the best results and feel absolutely amazing.

WILL I BE LOSING WATER WEIGHT?

Yes, which will be regained upon rehydration. But the calories burned are real. As you relax in the gentle heat of our saunas, your body is actually hard at work pumping blood (increased heart rate), increasing circulation and producing sweat to cool you down – hence the calorie burn! According to a Journal of the American Medical Association report, in a single sauna session you may burn as many calories as you would running for 60 minutes. So you lose weight – not just water! This is a great way to compliment exercise and a healthy diet.

WHAT IF I GET BORED?

We highly recommend you use the time in the sauna to meditate and relax, but we also provide music, tv and magazines as well. Or spend quality time alone with a friend. We even have some customers that bring their phone and text or check email. However, we don’t recommend this practice due to the heat in the sauna. Remember boredom is a state of mind and the most immediate relief your sauna session is simple relaxation, as it melts away the stresses and tensions of our daily life.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

Yes! Two people can comfortably enjoy a session together.  They will receive a discounted rate.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE OR CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT? OR WHAT IF I AM LATE?

You can cancel your appointment up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled time with no penalty. If you are running late we ask that you call and reschedule or the minutes you are late will cut into your session if we have an appointment booked after you.

IS IT SANITARY IN THE SAUNAS?

Yes, infrared light kills all bacteria and any airborne germs. Many medical devices are sterilized using Infrared light. A clean and relaxing environment is guaranteed with each session.

I HAVE IMPLANTS, DOES THIS AFFECT THEM?

Metal pins, rods, artificial joints and silicone implants (ear, nose, breast, etc.) generally reflect infrared light and while they may become warm they are therefore not adversely affected by sauna sessions.  We advise that you consult with the manufacturer and your surgeon before using our infrared saunas.

ARE THERE ANY CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR INFRARED SAUNAS?

If you have any concerns or are on any medications please consult your physician before scheduling a sauna session. You can click here on information on potential dangers and considerations before using the FIR sauna.
